On Friday mornings, Keith and Juanita are joined by Nashville Sharon and Randy Hartless for original poetry, quizzes, chat and mayhem in a segment that's become known as You-Call-It Friday. Sharon introduces herself:
I'm Nashville Sharon from KLPZ.
Guess by now, you've heard of me.
I'm the poet lady, I tell stories in ryhme,
Just doin' my thing with whatever enters my mind.
Been telling my tales now, close to 4 years,
Hopin' my voice somehow reaches your ears.
Friday morning's the time, KLPZ's the place,
You can hear my voice but you can't see my face.
That might be a good thing, some would say,
That you can picture me in your mind, any ole way.
Thank God for radio, it's just me and the mic-
I don't have to worry 'bout what I really look like.
My fame has spread both near and far.
At last I'm famous, I'm finally a star!
A voice without a face on your radio dial,
I'll go down in history, I'll go down in style.
But it's lonely at the top; this is sad but true.
I needed somethin' new to carry me through.
I needed a partner, a buddy, so to speak,
A sidekick to stand beside me each week.
I know you've heard about partners in crime.
Well now I have a partner in rhyme!
Ladies and gentlemen, give a big hand for Randy!
The way he tells stories is cool and real dandy.
He once had a column in the paper each week,
But just when his fame had reached a high peak,
He got fired, and his future was left uncertain
Cause somebody goofed, and pulled down his curtain.
But his engine was still runnin', he was still in high gear,
He refused to be silenced, he made that quite clear.
So he revved up his engine and tried something new:
He walked through these doors for his radio debut!
He's got a lot to say, but it's only began,
He spins his own tales like nobody can.
Tune in and listen to the Poet Gal and Guy.
We're the best entertainment that money can buy!
So now it's no longer lonely at the top.
Randy stands beside me with antics nonstop.
Together we'll rise to fortune and fame
On 1380am, where everyone knows our name.
